Celebrating 70 years of innovation

What started as a discovery for supporting the diagnosis and treatment of polio patients evolved into an invention that transformed the healthcare industry forever and impacted millions of lives.

In 1954 Radiometer developed the world’s first commercially available blood gas analyser.

We are proud of our 70 years of innovation and partnerships and excited about the future.

"We started our venture in the blood gas industry by helping the aid of polio patients. Now, critically ill patients are the centre of everything we do, and that work continues to this day, impacting around 24 million patients each year."

Francis Van Parys, President
Radiometer Medical ApS

In the news release, President Francis Van Parys, talks about this important milestone.

Innovation rooted in a partnership

Impacting millions of lives

Every year, nearly 24 million patients are impacted by the information our solutions provide. We enable caregivers to test nearly one million samples every day with our devices and our solutions are used in hospitals, clinics, and labs in over 120 countries.

A legacy of science and innovation

Our company is driven by continuous improvement in our processes and products, from the Astrup Apparatus to a robotic solution with Technicon and our own AI platform, RADchat. We continue to look at how we can use AI to cultivate a learning environment and foster future-ready skills.

Partnerships for life

Our entry into acute care diagnostics began with a partnership. Since that first partnership with Danish brewery, Carlsberg, we’ve partnered with leading scientists, academic and medical institutions, technology startups and more - to turn bold ideas into groundbreaking solutions, available to caregivers, and ultimately, patients around the world.

Access to healthcare

Everything we create, we create with our patients in mind. We are focused on the best-in-class solutions to support caregivers into the future. One of the ways we support increased access to healthcare is by continuing to expand our remote support offering for customers.

Our people with passion

Jens Sørensen, Senior Technical Product Manager, has worked at Radiometer since 1977. He has been with Radiometer 47 out of the 70 years, and it’s only fitting that he shares with us Radiometer’s purpose.
